They're all paid for.

Numerous area business have stepped forward and donated money and services to cover the cost of the Donahue Park Summer Concert Series which kicks off Friday night with Bad Medicine, a Bon Jovi tribute band.

First Selectmen Ed Haberek, who came up with the idea for the concerts, said that $11,450 has been raised so far to cover the expected $10,000 cost. He said donations continue to come in.

Mystic Aquarium, Aquarion Water Co., Evans Mobil, Westerly Pawcatuck Downtown Business Association, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, Newport Fed and Chelsea Groton Bank have all contributed $1,500 while the Mohegan Sun is providing rooms for the bands.

A number of other area organizations and businesses have chipped in $250 to $500.

The second of the free concerts, which begin at 6:30 p.m., is slated for Aug. 5 when Sugar will perform. The newly renovated Donahue Park is located at 46 West Broad Street in downtown Pawcatuck behind Citizens Bank.
