Touch-a-Truck Adds Tiny Monsters

NORTH BRANFORD - Now in its 12th year, Touch-a-Truck returns to North Branford High School (NBHS) on Sunday, June 3 with the addition of some tiny monsters.

In addition to kid-pleasing favorites, including full-scale dump trucks, fire trucks, and earth movers, this year's free program includes a special demonstration by Mike Baylis of East Coast RC Trucks. Baylis and his crew will bring one-eighth scale remote-controlled Monster Trucks.

The mini monster trucks will be there for "demonstrations of the tiny destructive force of the diminutive giants," according to a press release from North Branford Parks & Recreation. East Coast RC Trucks has performed crowd-wowing demos at Monster Truck events including Monsterjam.

Antique and classic car owners from around the state have also been invited to add their touch to Touch-a-Truck this year, said Parks & Recreation Director Pam Gery.

"We're looking for more than 50 cars to come rolling in," said Gery. "It should be a great chance for the owners, who love their cars, to share their knowledge, memories and enthusiasm with the many young people who attend Touch-a-Truck."

Touch-a-Truck will be held in the parking lot at North Branford High School on Sunday, June 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). Admission is free. For more information about attending or displaying a vehicle, contact North Branford Parka & Recreation at 203-315-6017.
