Vermont routs Tigers 9-0

Miguel Marte had two hits, including a two-run home run, with four RBI as the Vermont Lake Monsters trounced the Connecticut Tigers on Tuesday, 9-0, in a New York-Penn League Stedler Division game played before 1,583 at Centennial Field.

Andres Avila scattered three hits over six innings with eight strikeouts for the Lake Monsters (28-40).

Jacob Tanis also went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

The Tigers are 30-36.
