Richard and Dawn Favreau of Snow Hill, N.C., celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Aug. 22, 2012. About 35 guests attended a surprise picnic given by the couple's two children, Detective William Barss of Kinston, N.C., and Halley Muench of Preston and their families at the Indian Fields Resort Campground Pavilion in Salem, on Aug. 12, 2012. The couple also has four granddaughters, a grandson, and a great-granddaughter.

The Favreaus were married on Aug. 22, 1987, at the First Congregational Church at Meeting House Rocks in historic Norwichtown.
