Series to explore holistic medicine

Author Gracelyn Guyol presents a 13-part TV series, "Restoring Health Holistically," on Comcast Community Service Channel 12. The series will feature naturopathic doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, acupuncturists and other practitioners of complementary and alternative medical remedies for difficult or perpetual illnesses.

Conditions covered include depression, inflammation, autoimmune symptoms, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, chronic pain, bipolar disorder, addictions, integrative cancer treatment and prevention, insomnia, anxiety, PTSD and other emotional traumas.

The first program in the series airs Sept. 26 and features Jane Percy, author and executive director of the Riverlight Center in Stonington. Percy will discuss foods for rebuilding health.

All shows will air on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
