The Hand football team started its season off at 3-0 thanks to a 35-7 win against Cheshire at home on Sept. 28 in which Hand held a 21-0 lead at the half. Quarterback Brendan Bilcheck had 100 yards on the ground. In the first half, running back Ian O’ Toole had 78 yards rushing with two scores, Tom Schultz scored on a 10-yard touchdown reception, and Kyle Anderson had a 12-yard catch for six for the Tigers. Also in the game, Caleb Ewald had four catches for 19 yards.
Bilcheck continued his strong play in the second half with two second-half scores while Dan Rodgers had 50 rushing yards on the ground. Helping on defense, Alex Tuccero had a 44-yard interception return and Will Reynolds had two tackles on the night while Scott Sweitzer, Weston Staples, Johnny Castaldo, and Pat Rodgers each had one for Hand.
