Food tip: Polenta

Ballo Italian Restaurant and Social Club

Mohegan Sun

When a friend and I stopped by Ballo recently for dinner, we found much deliciousness. To wit: the pizza with sweet sausage with roasted peppers and caramelized onions on a crispy thin crust ($13); the chicken parmigiana with house pomodoro, mozzarella and basil ($24); the arugula salad with parmigiano, lemon and pine nuts ($11); and the classic Caesar with croutons and parmigiano ($9). But one side dish was beyond fabulous: the polenta ($8). My friend's analysis: "It was the creamiest, most flavorful polenta I've ever had." My analysis: Woo-hoo! I'm already planning my return visit.
