A couple quick hits before UConn's exhibition opener against American International College at Gampel Pavilion:
New coach Kevin Ollie is starting his five most experienced players in junior Shabazz Napier, sophomore Ryan Boatright, sophomore DeAndre Daniels, junior Niels Giffey and junior Tyler Olander.
Expect Ollie to experiment with several different combinations.
R.J. Evans of Salem, Phillip Nolan, Omar Calhoun and Leon Tolksdorf will all make their UConn exhibition debuts.
The statistic to watch tonight -- and most nights -- will be rebounding. The Huskies are very thin in the frontcourt.
Only 10 scholarship players are available tonight with center Enosch Wolf still recovering from a concussion. He's expected to play in Sunday's exhibition finale against UMass-Lowell in Hartford.
Jim Calhoun will not be at tonight's game. He was spotted leaving Gampel Pavilion about two hours before tip-off.
Check back later for post-game breakdown.
