New London — Coast Guard Academy senior quarterback Jon Resch became the program’s all-time leader in passing yards (4,569) and touchdown passes (38) in the Bears’ 42-13 victory Saturday over Maine Maritime Academy.

Resch, who came out of the game with 8 minutes, 42 seconds remaining, finished 23-for-36 with 235 yards passing and six touchdowns. Coast Guard finished the season 5-4 overall, its first winning season since 2007.

Resch eclipsed the career record of 4,459 yards, established by Cory Anderson from 2002-05 and the career touchdown record of 37 held by Dan Warren (1994-97).

Resch also broke the single-season records for yards (2,514), completions (215) and touchdowns (23).
