Corrosion of Conformity hits the El 'n' Gee

In the spangled glory days, it wasn't unusual to see two or even three national touring headliners perform at New London's El 'n' Gee club on any given week.

Over the years and through economic hard times, there's been a succession of management groups and conceptual experiments at the Gee, but the present honchos have done a fine job of highlighting a hardcore/punk/metal scene.

Plus, if you haven't noticed, big-league headliners are starting to show up on the calendar. A few weeks back, Napalm Death and Exhumed came through, and, on Saturday, Corrosion of Conformity takes the stage. Now 30 years on in their strident career as metal-punk visionaries, COC is once-again anchored by Woody Weatherman, Mike Dean and Reed Mullin - and their latest self-titled album will roast your ears. ASG and Royal Thunder are also on the bill.
