Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and OpSail Connecticut have been named award winners for contributing to the state's economic development and overall success.

The Connecticut Economic Resource Center announced this week that awards will be handed out at its annual event CELEBRATE CT! Nov. 28 at The Bushnell in Hartford.

L&M has been involved in a number of recent initiatives, including constructing a new medical center in Waterford and planning another in Old Lyme, as well as developing a plan to merge with The Westerly Hospital.

OpSail CT 2012 helped organize a tall-ship event in the New London area.
