Waterford — A Mystic woman has been hired as the new director of human resources for the town and the board of education.
Joyce Sauchuk began her position with the town on Thursday. Before her hiring, she spent more than 15 years working in human resources for the Town of Groton.
Sauchuk has significant experience in all areas of human resources including recruitment, collective bargaining, personnel policies, unemployment hearings, grievance/arbitration hearings, health benefits, workers’ compensation, general liability and all aspects of labor relations, a press release from the town said on Friday.
She holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. in Accounting from University of Connecticut and has also received the designation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist-health benefits and a Certification from Cornell University in Labor Relations-Collective Bargaining.
