Several bank presidents with local ties have been elected as officers of the Connecticut Bankers Association.
Chandler J. Howard, president and chief executive of Middletown-based Liberty Bank, was named first vice chairman. In addition, B. Michael Rauh, president and chief executive of Groton-based Chelsea Groton Bank, was named as an at-large member of the executive committee, as were Edward O. Handy of RBS Citizens, Gerald P. Plush of Webster Bank and Kevin C. Merchant of Jewett Savings Bank. Rheo A. Brouillard, president and chief executive of Willimantic-based Savings Institute Bank & Trust, was renominated to the association's legislative committee.
