Branford Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect that was responsible for a robbery at the Branford Gulf Gas Station, located at the intersection of East Main St (Rte. 1) and North Branford Rd (Rte. 139) on Saturday, Nov. 17 just after 7:00 p.m.,

The suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 35 years-old, approximately 5’9’ – 5’10” tall and weighing about 200 lbs. He was wearing a red or maroon hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans and white sneakers.

Lt. Arthur Kohloff, who is overseeing the investigation, said the suspect reached over the counter and into the cash register after demanding the clerk open the drawer. Kohloff said, “No weapon was actually displayed, however from his actions he indicated that he was concealing one in his sweatshirt.”

The department’s K-9, Neecko, searched the immediate area after the robbery and was unable to locate the suspect and police believe that he may have fled the area in a vehicle that was parked in the vicinity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Branford Police Department at 203-481-4241 or contact the Branford Crime Tip Line at 203-315-3909.

The incident remains under investigation.
