Shame on NL council, attorney for inaction

Shame on the City Council/city attorney for their collective failure to deal responsibly with the petition for a budget referendum in New London. Perhaps next year the budget petition and ballot referendum should be worded differently.

I suggest something like the following: "I reject the proposed city budget for general government and any revisions by the City Council that exceeds 2 percent of last year's $41.3 million budget."

The good news is that we have a year to finalize the wording. Otherwise, shame on us for being tricked again.
