A Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas concert

From my hazy undergrad days at Baylor, I seem to remember some Bible-y quote about putting away childish things.

Well, one of the great things about being a musician is that, by definition, you choose to NOT put away childish things. This does not always work out particularly well. Stash's stovepipe hat has sort of passed the expiration date, as is Sting's moronic insistence on not pronouncing the "g" at the end of words in his lyrics. ("Every little THIN' she does is magic.")

Can we give rockabilly wizard Brian Setzer a pass, though, on his pompadour? I believe we can. In some innate fashion, Brian's just being true to his Innate Brian-ness - in the same fashion that, on Sunday, he's bringing his 9th Annual Christmas Extravaganza to the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods.

The tour has become a passion for Setzer. Just consider the fun arrangements on his three best-selling holiday albums: "Boogie Woogie Christmas," "Dig That Crazy Christmas," and "Christmas Rocks!"
