In light of the recent horrific events in Newtown, I am perplexed by the double standard many Americans harbor. The nation thinks it right and proper to use armed personnel to protect its banking institutions, federal buildings, Senate and House buildings, money transfer companies, all levels of the court systems from the Supreme Court all the way down to the local level. There are simply too many to list here but hopefully you get the idea.
Where is the outrage that we do not extend this same protection to our most precious resource? Our children, our future.
The president's children have Secret Service protection while attending school and children of other prominent government and television personalities enjoy security protection too.
My grandchildren deserve no less, how about yours?
Time to wake up America.
