Groton Business awards

The Groton Business Association will hold a luncheon Jan. 24 at noon at Groton Inn Suites, 99 Gold Star Highway.

An inaugural Spirit of Groton award is being presented to the founders of the Groton Business Association. The GBA, a division of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, hosts monthly meetings, an annual Groton Business Update, and produces Groton's Fall Festival and the Groton Lights Parade.

Award winners from the parade will be honored: Black Hawk II Sport Fishing, Timbuck 2 Garden Center; Fitch Senior High School Marching Band, and Cub Scout Pack 41.

There also will be recognition of the sponsors of the parade and festival, which include Groton Utilities, Groton Parks & Recreation, Cumulus Communications, Chelsea Groton Bank, Savings Institute Bank & Trust, Groton Shopping Plaza, Liberty Bank, The Day, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, Communications Plus, Grossman's Seafood, Pepsi, Grader Jewelers, Schottett Federal Management, and Shipmen's Fire Equipment.
