Stonington Institute names clinical services head

Dr. Lynda Smith has accepted the position of director of Clinical Services at Stonington Institute. Smith will have clinical responsibility for adult programs on the North Stonington campus.

Smith began her professional career as a psychologist at the former Norwich State Psychiatric Hospital and was the first full-time staff clinical psychologist at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London. She co-founded and administered the Care Clinic (Chemical Addiction Recovery Enterprises) and the Care Plus Program, a private, for-profit outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment facility in New London.

Smith serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Living and The Day as well as the Board of Corporators at L+M and the Regional Advisory Board of Citizen's Bank.
