The King's Singers perform in Westerly

Introductions, please: In case you haven't heard of The King's Singers from England, here's a primer. They are an a cappella group whose name refers to the place they were founded - King's College in Cambridge. The ensemble was created by chorus scholars there all the way back in 1968. The King's Singers have existed in different incarnations ever since.

Bringing home the title: The King's Singers won a Grammy in 2009 for Best Classical Crossover Album. They won another Grammy last year for Best Choral Performance, for their part in Eric Whitacre's album "Light and Gold."

Musical setting: The King's Singers' latest tour and album "Pater Noster (Our Father)" focuses on various ways that composers have transformed The Lord's Prayer into musical works. What that includes: plainchant and compositions by William Byrd, Heinrich Sch�tz, Francis Poulenc, Orlandus Lassus and Leonard Bernstein.
