‘I Am Worthy’: Suicide Prevention Awareness Forum
TIME: 7:00 pm
Union Baptist Church will host the The Emerson Theater Collaborative’s production of “The Gospel According to Josh,” written by Josh Rivedal and directed by Josh Gabioan this weekend. Performances, open to the public, are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.
This project brings to light the importance of suicide prevention in relation to the mental health initiative and re-building our communities.
This one man show encompasses a 30 character, seven song show, about a small town boy who follows his dreams to Hollywood despite the tempestuous relationship with his pious father. Along the way he must navigate his religious upbringing, an escape to New York, his starring roles in two reality TV shows, and ultimately his father’s tragic suicide.
Each performance is followed by a discussion. Tickets are $10 and $8 for seniors and students, and available at emersontheatercollaborative.org or by calling (860) 705-9711.
Union Baptist Church is located at 119 High St. in Mystic.
