An exhibit of items in the permanent collection of the Latin Network for the Visual Arts, a local nonprofit organization that seeks to enrich the community through exposure to contemporary art from countries where Romance languages are spoken. This diverse exhibition features paintings, photography and sculpture from artists in Spain, Cuba, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Peru. There will be a talk and reception on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 4:15 p.m. The exhibit is sponsored by the Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity and the Department of History.

The Old Lyme PGN Library announces a collaborative project with the Florence Griswold Museum. The series, …isms: A Study of Styles in Art, Literature and Film opens on March 1 at 7:00 pm and continues through April 19. All programs are free and take place on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. Session locations will alternate between the Library and Museum.

The eight part series is a community collaboration funded by a generous grant from the Connecticut Humanities Council to engage participants with interactive programs led by staff and facilitators from each organization.
