Post-traumatic stress disorder is a severe anxiety disorder with typical treatment being medications and/or psychotherapy.
The specially focussed "YOGA FOR HEALING PTSD and TRAUMA" classes taught by Carollanne in April/May 2013 offer those experiencing PTSD some simple ways to navigate the symptoms of PTSD, and often associated conditions such as phobias, suicidal feelings, mood disorders, insomnia, fatigue, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, all of which can be debilitating.
Allowing gentle, nourishing yoga, meditation, visualization and breathing practices to soften held traumas of the mind, as well as the body, helps one navigate recovery and increase coping skills.

Connecticut State Historian Walt Woodward will be at the Jabez-Smith House at 1 p.m. Sunday to discuss and answer questions about the life of Nathan Hale.

In this lecture, Woodward examines these issues, especially the question as to whether Hale was an arsonist, and provides new insight into Hale’s life, death and heroism. This free program is part of the Jabez-Smith House Museum Speaker Series.
