Tony McManus is a Scottish steel-string guitarist of Irish descent born in Paisley, Scotland.

English guitarist John Renbourn described him as "the best Celtic guitarist in the world."

His first self-titled album was released in 1996 on Greentrax Recordings. His second album, Pourquoi Quebec?, was recorded in Quebec, Canada and released on the same label in January. His third album, Ceol More, was released in 2002 and achieved widespread critical acclaim. It includes a version of Charles Mingus's Goodbye Porkpie Hat.

He has recorded duets with noted Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser and an album with bassist Alain Genty, titled Singing Sands.

The Shoreline Chorale will present “Rhythms of Dancing” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 at the Westbrook High School. Choral selections emphasize the rhythmic qualities of numerous dance styles, including German waltz, Hungarian, Latin (tango, Cachucha), African (Nigerian, Shona), and American (folk, Shaker) styles.

Ballroom dance champions Barbara Malinsky and husband Richard will perform a tango during the choral selection called “Tango to Evora”
and students of the Westbrook Dance Academy will exhibit their dance repertoire during the concert.

The Chorale’s lively Shoreliners Quintet will perform "Soft Shoe Song” (The Dance My Darlin' Used to Do), composed by Sid Bass with lyrics by Roy Jordan, arranged for this concert by chorale and quintet member Charles Houlihan.

The Community Music School presents its Sinfonia and String Ensemble performance groups in concert on Tuesday, April 29th at 6:30 pm at Valley Regional High School in Deep River. Under the direction of Martha Herrle, each of these ensembles will perform a variety of works including It's a Small World, Dance of Fire, Mozart's Symphony no. 29, Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no. 3, and I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables.
Sinfonia is a multigenerational orchestra offered to players of all ages and orchestral instruments. The String Ensemble had a modest start in 2002, with 4 children and one adult. Today it is an amazing intergenerational string orchestra with over 30 members from ages 8 to 80. Each ensemble rehearses weekly from September through March and also performs annually at the CMS Holiday Concert. New members are welcome to join and registration for the next year opens in August.
