Three Rivers Young Marines Sgt. Major Connor McMahon places a flag into the fire pit during a formal flag retirement ceremony for a dozen worn Stars and Stripes Thursday, June 14 2012 at Howard T. Brown Memorial Park in Norwich. The ceremony, hosted by the Norwich Area Veterans Council, included a presentation on flag etiquette by Boy Scout troops 80 and 4 as well as other patriotic presentations.
