Crews from PAR Electrical Contractors, along with a sub-contracted helicopter, string lead lines that will be used to pull new electrical transmission cables along a 6,700-foot area of Waterford crossing Rt. 1 near Cross Road. The helicopter speeds up the process of stringing the new transmission lines across difficult terrain. The new transmission lines will bolster the durability of the feed from Millstone Nuclear Power Station through eastern Connecticut and into the New England power grid.Sean D. Elliot/The Day
