Five East Lyme women participate in a Laughter Yoga class, held in the Olive Tubbs Chendali Room of the the East Lyme Community Center, Thursday, March 21, 2013. The free weekly class is a program offered by the Nicholas Parahus Senior Center and instructed by Ruth Higgins of East Lyme, a certified Laughter Yoga instructor, who volunteers her time.

Laughter Yoga was developed in 1995, by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor in Mumbai, India, while researching the relationship between health and happiness. Five local woman participated in the class and is open to anyone.
