The Acton Library hosts the Treehouse Players: a children's theatre adventure on Thursday afternoons.

Lead by Amy Forbes, she guides kids as they explore the world of a story through dramatic play using theater games, improvisation to create dialogue, action, song and movement. 
This free program is open to children in Grades 2 þÄì 4.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of Acton Library.

On Friday September 13th, World War II Army Veteran, Wallace Malley Appell  made his final journey on a caisson., escorted by the Old Saybrook Police and Greg and Marsha Young with the Patriot Guard Riders from Swan Funeral Home to the Riverside Cemetery  and was laid to rest with full military honors. John Allegra and Wayne Swan arrive at Riverside Cemetary.

The 56th Annual Old Saybrook Arts & Crafts Festival was held July 27th and 28th on the Old Saybrook Town Green. More than 140 artists and crafters were on display with their original works. The free event was sponsored by the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce.

The Bushnell Farm held their þÄúFollow the FibersþÄù Spring event Saturday May 18th. The free event showcased historic demonstrations of 17th century farm life from sheep shearing, wool dyeing, weaving, cooking, rope making and more.

The 27th annual Walkathon and Scavenger Hunt to benefit the Connecticut ChildrenþÄôs Medical Center stepped of Saturday morning from Grace Church in Old Saybrook. The three mile walk through the North Cove section of town featured a scavenger hunt of items to find along the route.

The Old Saybrook Park and Recreation department held their annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday April 13th. Sponsored by the LionþÄôs Club of Old Saybrook, the event featured face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny and the friendly Spring Lion and an Easter egg hunt with candies, eggs and toys.

The Old Saybrook High School Drama Club is busy in rehearsals preparing for their production of Leonard BernsteinþÄôs musical þÄúOn The TownþÄù.  Performances are Thursday March 14th and Friday March 15th at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday March 16th at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 each and available on line at showtix4u.com, in the school office and at the door. The play is directed by Lenore Grunko with music direction by Jeremy Milton.
