Opportunity Knocks Twice

I am hoping Madison voters will vote "Yes" on the Griswold Airport referendum. Usually opportunity only knocks once and the door opens then closes. In this case, opportunity has knocked a second time and Madison has the rare opportunity to vote in favor of something that benefits us all as a community, not just now, but forever.

The airport was a unique piece of Madison history, but was sold for development and unfortunately the runway is too short to qualify for federal money. The property, therefore, can never return as we once knew it. We, the citizens of Madison, have a chance to decide whether we will have 42 acres of park and recreation land with access to the Sound from the Hammonasset marshes or whether it will be just another huge shoreline condominium community.

I encourage your readers to get out and vote "Yes" on Jan. 26!
