Will Be Looked Upon as a Bargain

One of the great things about Madison and what distinguishes it from other shoreline towns is the wonderful way the Long Island Sound and the town are intertwined in a way all the residents can enjoy the views, the beaches, and the beautiful sunsets.

I have traveled to many far-off places, but nothing is as enjoyable as the views from East Wharf beach in the late afternoon.

Let us thank the individuals who had the foresight to set aside the three Madison beaches and Hammonasset State Park. They should be applauded.

Now we have another chance to obtain a

wonderful area of land that will do us proud and add to the special place that is Madison. This is not only for us, but for future generations. Let us take this opportunity to do the right thing and purchase the airport property.

Yes, it costs money and, yes, it could have been bought years ago, but we have the opportunity now because of the economy. If real estate was booming we would not have had this chance. All great investments are made when things look bleak. This is an investment that will be looked upon as a bargain, not only in monetary value, but as a gift to future residents.
