First casinos, now keno, and next will be tolls

The state of Connecticut wants to get into the keno business to help cover operating expenses.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. Years ago when we did not have any casinos, the state said that the revenue from the then-proposed casinos would help produce the much-needed revenue to keep the state running. I believe the current monthly take from both casinos is in the millions.

Fast forward to 2010 and the state says keno would help produce the much-needed revenue to keep the state running.

Hmmm, a few years from now, when the state is again spending too much, what will its new revenue source plan be? I got it - toll booths. What a novel idea.
