Once in the driveway, the passenger, later identified as Ormand F. Northup III, 28, of 12 Ephraims Path, Ledyard, fled on foot into a wooded area behind the house.
The driver, Daniel Menihan, 28, of 3R Birch St., Ledyard, was taken into custody immediately. He was charged with interfering with police and failure to obey an officer's signal.
With the assistance of a state police dog, Northup was found in a shed. He was charged with interfering with police and resisting arrest.
Police then discovered that he is wanted by Norwich police for failure to appear in court and wanted in Rhode Island for violation of probation.
