The rule of law has been holding very bad people accountable for more than two centuries. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would face his day in court before experienced, tested judges and prosecutors.
Two terrorist suspects apprehended in the United States and initially turned over to the military were eventually tried in civilian courts. Both were convicted and are serving prison sentences. The system works.
