Staying true to his word about trying to work with Republicans, President Obama has indicated his openness to four GOP proposals on health care (and) one proposal has game-changing potential, and the president is breaking ideological and political ranks to embrace it.
The idea is health savings accounts, or HSAs. HSAs typically provide insurance for catastrophic medical issues, but set aside cash for routine care and modest health problems. The patient keeps the cash he or she does not spend.
President Obama, to his credit, seems interested in getting to yes. HSAs are a good place to start.
