Beneath optimistic blue skies, the Branford High School (BHS) Class of 2010 starred at a picture-perfect graduation ceremony June 15 on the Town Green. The Class of 2010, dressed in traditional caps and gowns done in Branford red and white, cheered for speakers including Class President Ashley Gatto and Commencement Speaker (and retiring BHS teacher) Michelina Fazzino. Fazzino encouraged the graduates to take chances, embrace change, and "know that you are loved."

"You have acquired the skills to achieve success. You are lifelong learners; you can do whatever you set your mind to. So, take a chance…on yourself. Embrace change; it's going to happen anyway…and know that you are loved and absolutely capable of loving others in return," Fazzino said.

Board of Education Chairman Frank Carrano and BHS principal Lee Panagoulias Jr. conferred diplomas on 296 students. A total of 93 awards and scholarships were earned or shared by 178 students and 57 students received athletic awards.
