A Sensible Budget in Difficult Times

I am writing in support of the new town budget proposal. The Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance have listened to the concerns of voters and have reduced the budget to an increase of just 1.87 percent over last year. That is the lowest increase in five years.

This budget includes this year's cost for the Senior Center and Griswold Airport projects and so supports the decisions on capital projects that the majority of voters have made over the last few years.

Thanks go to the town leaders for producing a sensible budget in these difficult economic times.
