The Norwich Human Services Safety Net Team's 2010 "Back Pack It To School Program" provided new backpacks and school supplies to 720 underprivileged Norwich children to begin the new school year, thanks to the generosity of our community.
About 25 volunteers assembled at the Rose City Senior Center to fill backpacks with age-appropriate supplies for each child. This program, in its 14th year, could not be possible without these wonderful volunteers and numerous donations.
I would like to say how much we appreciate the numerous businesses and organizations that helped make this event successful.
Hats off to everyone involved for helping to bring joy to these children.
