It's encouraging to learn nuclear power may be the main key in solving energy issues. ("Micro-reactors may be main key in solving energy issues," Aug. 28.)
It is especially important to address this issue now, if indeed it's not too late, to prevent ETD (Econo-Thermal Disaster), a term I have chosen based on our country's inability to cope with the problem.
Most of the current administration's energy programs are naive, out of step with reality, far-fetched and not sound.
Take for instance cap and trade. About 98 percent of the people I ask, including college graduates and teachers, don't know what the term means or the unemployment it may cause.
It looks "rosy" to the Kyoto Protocol, nutty professors and the United Nations, which are mixed up on global-warming theories, as has well documented on Fox News by Sean Hannity.
Windmill generators have their place in Holland, Poland, Germany and select spots; however, windmills kill millions of bats and birds, which are essential to our ecology. Likewise, bio-diesel and solar may have an increasingly albeit small part of our needs
Meanwhile emphasis on nuclear, natural gas and fossil fuel may keep us ahead of Japan and China, if we wake up.
