By this point, I suggest Duke Robillard be promoted. He's been a duke long enough. If viscounts can have their pictures in Vanity Fair - and I saw one last month, in one of those collages of Rich Persons acting blase about being rich - then by God the man known as Duke Robillard deserves to move up!
On the other hand, Elvis was King, Prince was, er, Prince, and Ernie K. Doe was Emperor of the Universe.
I suppose "Monarch Robillard" would work - but the important thing is that you show up tonight in New London's Hygienic Art Park. Expect a regal evening of sizzling blues and swing from Robillard and equally adept guitarist Debbie Davies. Added fun-ness: folks will be onhand videotaping Davies for a Library of Congress documentary on female blues and folk artists.
This is a terrific booking to close out August and the Summer Nights in the District concert series.

Duke Robillard and Debbie Davies, 7 tonight, Hygienic Art Park, 79 Bank St., New London; free, $15 suggested donation; (860) 443-8001.
The Day hosted a web chat with New London Mayor Daryl J. Finizio to discuss the beginning of his new administration and news out of the city's police department.
