Section of Connecticut Blvd. in Montville closed

Montville - The section of Connecticut Boulevard between Pennsylvania Avenue and Maryland Road is closed because of a downed power lines and a pole across the road.
Crews from the Oakdale fire department were just settling back into the station this evening after fighting a fire at the mall which housed Oakdale Pizza, among many other businesses, when they were called to the boulevard after reports that a car had struck the pole and left the scene, according to Oakdale fire Chief Gary Murphy.
Murphy said the driver did not get far and police took the man into custody. Power crews are on site but Murphy said it will be several hours before the road is reopened.
