Shenkman trial begins in Hartford

Richard Shenkman was in Hartford Superior Court on Monday for the first day of his trial on kidnapping and arson charges. Shenkman is accused of kidnapping his estranged wife, Nancy Tyler, and holding her hostage in his Windsor home in July of 2009. The trial's first witness was Suzanne Arnold, a friend of Tyler's who described a phone call from Tyler on the morning of the alleged kidnapping.
