Admirable Though Not a Record

In your Nov. 17 story "Close Race: Branford Holds Two RTM Recounts," The Sound wrote: "In the selectman's race, Anthony 'Unk' DaRos won his way back for a record sixth term as Branford's first selectman."

In fact, Democrat John Sliney won nine elections for first selectman from 1963 to 1979. Republican First Selectman Judy Gott won six elections from 1983 to 1993. So while DaRos's election to a sixth term is an admirable achievement, it is hardly a record.
