A Tremendous Outpouring of Generosity

We are all aware of the economic climate surrounding us at this time. Despite that, the tremendous outpouring of generosity from the people and businesses of Branford and some of the surrounding towns has gone way beyond our hopes for this holiday season. Approximately 245 families in need were given Thanksgiving dinner baskets due to this outstanding generosity.

A big thank you goes to everyone for their donations and a special thank you goes to all of the volunteers who gave countless hours to get it all together and distribute approximately more than four tons of food.

Friday, Dec. 16 is a critical date. Branford Food Pantry clients or other families having a difficult financial time during the holiday that desire Christmas turkey dinner food baskets must call the Branford Counseling Center at 203-481-4248 by Dec. 16 to receive home delivery.

Christmas food baskets will be delivered on Thursday, Dec. 22 between the hours of 8:30 and 11 a.m. Someone must be home to accept the basket; they will not be left at the door and the pantry is closed at 11 a.m.

Requests made after Dec. 16 must be picked up at 30 Harrison Avenue between the hours of 9:30 and 11 a.m. These late requests will be filled if supplies are available. If people are not on the regular client list, an I.D. will be required to show home address.
