Catherine Clute Orsini of Stonington and Joshua Allen Ellal were married on July 23, 2011 at St. Joseph Church in New London. Catherine is the daughter of Sandra and David Orsini of Waterford. Joshua is the son of Gloria and Henry Ellal of Sterling.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was married in a timeless ivory lace strapless dress, the veil was sheer ivory with crystal trim and the shoes were cobalt, to match the color of the bridesmaid's dresses. Catherine carried a sentimental tie clip of her grandfather's on her bouquet and a hair pin made from her grandmother's broach.
Catherine's maid of honor was Kathryn Johnson. Bridesmaids were Colleen Driskill, Laura Scott, Denise Orsini and Ivy Mellow. Junior bridesmaid was the bride's niece, Emma Driskill and flower girls were Alaina Scott and Madeleine Orsini, nieces of the bride.
Kevin Belisle was the best man and Glen Barber, Christopher Orsini, Daniel Knowlton and Timothy Jonasch were groomsmen. John Scott was the usher and Marcus Orsini, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Catherine is a graduate from Waterford High School and Keene State College. She received her master's degree in teaching from Sacred Heart University and is a fourth grade teacher at Lillie B. Haynes Elementary School in Niantic.
Joshua graduated from Ellis Technical High School and received AutoCAD certification from Three Rivers Community College. He is currently employed by Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters.
Following a reception at the Mystic Yachting Center, the couple took a wedding trip to Kennebunkport, Maine. The couple resides in Stonington.
