• An 18 year-old West Haven man was arrested and charged with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license after the vehicle he was operating crashed into the shopping plaza at 1075 West Main Street just after 10:15 a.m. No one in the business was injured. The charged driver told police that while traveling through the parking lot he attempted to stop for a vehicle in front of his and inadvertently stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, lost control of his vehicle, swerved to the right to avoid a collision, and stuck the building. Both Justice–Just For Girls and the neighboring Radio Shack were closed as fire and building officials inspected the damage. Both businesses were determined to be structurally sound.
• A 56 year-old man of Linden Avenue was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:15 a.m. for failure to have insurance, operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension, and failure to obey a stop sign.
