Margaret Konz, 97, Guilford, formerly of Branford

Margaret Sandry Konz, 97, of Guilford, formerly of Branford, died in Guilford on Jan. 2.  She was the wife of the late Emil J. Konz.  Mrs. Konz was born on Nov. 22, 1914, daughter of the late Michael and Susan Hornyak Sandry.  She had worked for many years in the cafeteria at Branford Intermediate School, prior to her retirement.  She was also a communicant of St. Therese Church in Branford and a former member of the Ladies Guild. 

She is survived by a son, John “Jack” Konz and his wife Valerie of Cheshire; a daughter, Suzanne Butler and her husband Jeff of Barnegat, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Scott Butler of Hamden and Jenifer Konz of Ojai, California; and four great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by four brothers, Michael, Alexander, Frank, and Joseph Sandry, and her sister, Helen Kilbourne.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m., at St. Therese Church, Branford.  Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  The W.S.
