Leslie (Altieri) Padian, 46, of Branford, beloved wife and mother, died Jan. 11 after a long and courageous battle with juvenile diabetes. She was the wife of James P. Padian, Jr. and the mother of Max Padian, the greatest joy of her life. Leslie was born in New Haven on March 13, 1965, the loving daughter of Anthony and Barbara Altieri of East Haven. She was a graduate of East Haven High School and Branford Academy. Leslie’s greatest joy was taking care of her family, especially her cooking and baking. She had worked in the office of Dr. Lee Hurney in Branford and was a member of St. Mary Church in Branford.
Her family thanks the Yale Diabetes Center for their care of Leslie over the years.
Besides her loving husband, son, and parents, Leslie is survived by her beloved siblings, Lauren Bast of East Haven, Leah Alger and her husband Michael of West Hartford, and Anthony Altieri and his wife Patty of West Hartford. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces, Aaron, Chelsea, Benjamin, Giuliana, Grace, James, and George, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved and supported her throughout her life. In addition, she is survived by her dearest and closest friend, Diane Miranda of Branford.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Jan. 14 at St. Mary Church, Branford. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 2969 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518-2556. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford, was in charge of arrangements.
