Mark Bancroft is at it again, spreading the word on how the town's residents can and should take advantage of the single stream recycling initiative the town implemented last summer.
When I stopped by the Town Hall on Wednesday, Mark handed me a nifty pamphlet that outlines what is and what isn't acceptable recycling items.
Here's the run down of the stuff you can chuck:
coat hangers
metal & aluminum cans
phone books
junk mail
paperback books, newspapers, magazines and catalogs, office paper/folders
empty arosol cans
clean aluminum foil and clean aluminum plates
paper egg cartons
plastic bottles and tubs #1-7
paper milk and juice cartons
class bottles (all colors)
shoe and cereal boxes
metal pots and pans
Here's a list of unacceptable recycling items:
plastic bags
garden hoses
light bulbs
needles and syringes
paper towels
styrofoam food containers
Mayor John Rodolico poked fun at Mark, calling him the "Garbage Czar" and said if anyone knows about garbage, it's Mark.
Call public works at (860)464-9060 ext.5 for more information on single stream recycling or if you have something else not on these lists that you need to throw away.
