The Shoreline Arts Alliance (SAA) announces the 31st annual Scholarships in the Arts to high school juniors and seniors who reside within the shoreline region. Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 are offered in the areas of creative writing, dance, instrumental music, vocal music, theater, and visual arts. The Arts Scholarship Program is committed to the education and career development of aspiring young artists.
Students who reside in theshoreline towns of Branford, Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Haven, East Lyme, Essex, Guilford, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Middlefield, North Branford, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Salem, and Westbrook are encouraged to apply for the SAA Scholarship Awards. Private, public, and home-schooled students may apply. The application postmark deadline is Wednesday,
Feb. 1. Audition dates in the performing arts categories and portfolio reviews for the creative writers and visual artists are listed on the SAA website, www.shorelinearts.org/scholarships.cfm. Applications are also available at this site. Judging is done by a panel of experts in each art discipline.
