Branford High School (BHS) senior Noah J. Perito (center) was named the Branford Rotary Student of the Month for January. He is pictured here with his music teacher Cathyann Roding (left), his mother Anita Perito (second from left), his father Jim Perito (second from right), and Branford Rotary President Alpha Coiro (far right).
The Student of the Month program recognizes high-achieving juniors and seniors who have made distinctive academic contributions. Perito was a finalist for the Connecticut Young Writers Competition and the winner for New Haven County. In addition, he is a high honor student and co-president of the Student Council. He has been involved in the high school musicals since his freshman year and is currently the Tenor Section leader. Perito will also be playing the lead in the upcoming spring performance of Aida at BHS and he was the lead in the December performance of Twelfth Night and the 2011 performance of Phantom of the Opera. In addition, he's played soccer for BHS for the last three years and is involved in the community during the BHS school blood drives. He volunteers at the Branford Rotary tent at the Branford Festival each summer. Perito plans to attend college next year with a goal toward ultimately launching a producing, writing, and performing career in the entertainment business.
The Branford Rotary Club meets weekly on Mondays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. at the Italian American Social Club, 40 Hamre Lane. Guests of members are welcome to attend luncheons, and membership inquiries are encouraged. Individuals may call Branford Rotary Club President Alpha Coiro at 203-503-1829 and visit the website at
